Mr. Akas Raut, is currently working with Kotak Mahindra Bank as Manager- Payments , looking after Payment Business in 3 cities and 24 Bank Branches, He has completed his MBA Marketing from SBPIM. Akash motivated students by telling his own success story, He explained them how he got chance from SBPIM to take up his Summer Internship at PAYTM, He told them his experience and challenges faced by him during PAYTM SIP and finally how he succeeded during his SIP. Akash said, never under estimate any opportunity or never get afraid of any challenges, just keep going. Akash said due to his 2 months sincere effort he got Pre Placement job offer by PAYTM. Akash also requested all the students to take maximum participations in all activities curricular, extracurricular and placements etc, ask them to be keep yourself updated for the business world.

March 15, 2018: An Industry Institute Partnership programme was conducted jointly by S.B.Patil Institute of management and ODSER Charitable trust. The programme started with the importance and introduction of having an HR meet for the students. The programme inauguration began by the lamp lighting ceremony by Dr.Jayashree Fadnavis, Dr,Daniel Penkar, Dr.Prem Sethi, Mrs. Sharada Sethi and Mr.Sashikant Kurbetti. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr.Jayashree Fadnavis. Dr. Daniel Penkar started by welcoming all the guests and stressing on the importance of having an Industry Institute Interface and how it can become a platform for students to interact with people from the industry and gain firsthand experience form what inputs the professionals have to give.

Dr.Prem Sethi, President of ODSER Charitable trust was invited over to introduce ODSER and comment on the joint work being done by ODSER and S.B.Patil Institute of management. Sethi sir also spoke about the importance of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world and how it should be adopted in today’s day to day corporate activities.

The Chief guest Dr.Jayashree Fadnavis was introduced and then felicitated by Dr.Daniel Penkar and Dr.Prem Sethi. A memento was presented to her as a token of appreciation and gratitude for her presence. Jayashree madam spoke about how soft skills and a combination of good people skills and knowledge will help students to perform better in the corporate world.

Ms. Chaitali Kalbhor, who is a multi-dimensional personality, she is a HR and she is currently part of a digital marketing company beyond billboard. Ms. Chaitali interacted with students to make them understand what digital marketing is, how the corporates are using digital marketing tools, what are the career opportunities available in digital marketing. She also explained them how the traditional business and marketing ways are converted in new digital age. She also said, to have an edge in the new technological age, one must learn and mater the new technology. It is more about your skills and right opportunity, which will lead into a beautiful career. A lecture on Guidelines for Summer Internship program was conducted on 16 February,2018 for the students of Semester II, First year in the Seminar Hall.

The speakers were Dr. Daniel Penkar, Director, SBPIM, Dr.H.D. Thorat, Research Head & Prof. Aishwarya Gopalakrishnan, SIP & Dissertation Co-Coordinator.

Dr. Daniel Penkar started the session by saying that our institute takes a great pride in having a lecture on SIP because ours is the only institute that conducts such an activity and because of which many of the students from previous batches have won many prizes for preparing ad presenting good reports.

He spoke about the History of SIP-why there was a need for students to do an SIP and get to understand and experience the actual way in which the Corporate World works.

He stressed on the fact that students must take their SIP’s seriously which will help them in getting a good learning, hands on exposure and in turn bag final placement offers.

Dr. Daniel Penkar, advised the students to read their subject related books, newspapers, journals and various websites to gather all the information that will help them to make good projects.

Dr. H. D. Thorat spoke to the students about the importance of research. He stressed on the fact that research is one of the most important areas on which a student must concentrate on. He shared something that he read somewhere i.e about the learning in your own way and using your potential to the maximum extent possible.

Dr. Thorat spoke about the reason for doing research in social sciences and gave a seven point formula for doing SIP projects successfully. He also gave a detailed presentation on how an SIP project report should look like and guidelines on what is expected from the students. Prof. Aishwarya Gopalakrishnan explained the whole SIP schedule to the students in detail and thereafter solved the doubts of the students.

The lecture was a grand success. Students were very happy that the SIP details were explained so well.

Sir told that the banking industry in India has a huge canvas of history, which covers the traditional banking practices from the time of Britishers to the reforms period. Therefore, banking in India has been through a long journey. The use of technology has brought a revolution in the working style of the banks. Information Technology has had a positive impact on substitutes for traditional funds movement services. With networking and interconnection new challenges are arising related to security privacy and confidentiality to transactions.

August 3, 2017:Mr. Ramdas Mane- CMD Mane Group of Industries, Pune motivated students to become entrepreneur in his session on “Road map for Entrepreneurship” with his real life example how he become a successful businessman in spite of so many hurdles in his life. He encouraged MBA students to take up entrepreneurship. He shared the success story at 58, Ramdas Mansingh Mane, CMD of, helms an empire that has an annual turnover of around Rs 30 crore. The collective turnover of Mane Group of Companies – which has five subsidiary companies - for last year was Rs 25 crore. It is expected to close at Rs 30 crore for 2017-2018. “In 1995, the first year, my turnover was Rs 3 lakh,” remembers Ramdas with a smile.

Today, he is giving back to society by making portable toilets made out of thermocol and donating it to the poor people. He says he has distributed around 22,000 such toilets till date.

Ramdas has already visited 150 countries and at times travels to more than one country in a day. It is tough to believe that there was a time when he didn’t have money to purchase a bus ticket to Pune.

He told to the students on different types of investment tools available in the market and their benefits. He also said that in a lot of instances young people and students like you are not thinking of investing, they rather buy the newest cars and gadgets, in other cases some believe that small investments is not going to do much for their future. In both situations people miss the important concept of compounding. He urged the students to invest at least Rs. 500 monthly, many students open their account with funds India and invested Rs.500. Students asked question with curiosity what are different career options in investment. If you are considering a career in investment management, you have a variety of options. For example, you could work as a financial manager, risk manager or investment banking sales agent. You can find these jobs in banks, brokerage firms, credit unions and insurance companies.

He told to students most of the companies are looking for people with senior management potential. MBA graduates have an above-average chance of fulfilling this need, but he also mentioned students should be careful not to raise expectations too high. Corporates also want people who can be effective quite rapidly. July 29, 2013: He talked about the competencies expected from management students from a corporate point of view. He emphasized the importance of professionalism in the corporate environment which is essential to be on the right track of success. He elaborated on the quality of leadership. Leadership is an important function of management which helps to maximize efficiency and to achieve organizational goals. The students were engaged during the entire the session. They were told to utilize the college time to develop their leadership and networking skills. Students enjoyed his interactive session.

July 29, 2013: To welcome the budding managers to the institute and to prepare them for their new role, SBPIM had organized an Induction Program “RHYTHM 2013”. During this program many corporates were invited to guide students on various aspects.

Dr. E. B. Khedkar (Dean, Management Sciences, University of Pune, and insights on “How to make way from Campus to Corporate”. While addressing the students Dr. E. B. Khedkar urged the students be ready for changes and adapt to the new culture this will help them to get into corporate culture when they enter into their professional world.

He explained to the students what type of skills an employer expects from their employees. Moreover he elaborated different concepts such as self-awareness, social awareness, self-confidence, work/life balance, corporate awareness and basic rules when students join any organization.

He gave the success mantra to the students: set clear objectives, do hard work and to develop competitive perspective to be successful in life.

July 6, 2013: NES, a non-profit organization in association with Turn Right launched the National Mentorship Program to bridge the gap between the Industry and Student skill set. S.B.P.I.M had organized an orientation seminar on 6th July, 2013 - PROGRAM THEME: 'Importance of a Mentor to shape your Career Destiny'.
