ISR(INSTITUTE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY) Initiatives

There is a constant and conscious effort at S.B Patil Institute of Management to inspire the students to take responsibility and initiatives in the Social Segment and for the betterment of the Society. A series of activities are planned which will be helpful for the society as a whole and create a holistic development by sensitizing students towards Health, Gender, Social and Environmental issues by inculcating beliefs that are driven for the betterment of the society. Some of the activities are successfully executed in association with various local and corporate bodies.

Prakriti (Environment protection)

Cleanliness drive at Fort Induri: On the occasion of "World Heritage Day" to support the Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan, SBPIM organised a Say No to Plastic - Cleanliness driveat Fort Induri, Talegaon Dhabade On 18th April 2023. Around 23 Students and 2 faculty members took part in the initiative were they collected plastic cans, bottles and wrappers from the fort, and handed over it to the waste collection vehicle.

Eco friendly Ganpati Idol Making session: PCET'S SBPIMhas conducted workshop on Eco-Friendly Ganpati Idol making on September 13, 2023 by Ms. Bhandari and her team. MBA students unleashed their artistic talents while learning to craft eco-friendly Ganpati idols. Sustainable materials and techniques took center stage, aligning tradition with environmental responsibility. A perfect blend of creativity, culture, and conscientiousness.

Volunteering at Ganpati Visarjan : Students of SBPIM volunteered for Ganpati visarjan at the neighborhood Ganesh Talav, on 25th September 2023.The students guided the devotees and helped them dispose the Nirmalya (flower offerings ) appropriately as a an initiative towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Cleanliness drive: PCET’s SBPMorganized a cleanliness drive (Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan) ) in association PCMC.Students volunteered for this event and conducted the cleanliness drive on 1st October 2023
At Chinchwad, the students pledged to keep the surroundings clean. The cleanliness drive covered the stretch from IMMS College Chowk, Chinchwad, to Chafekar Chowk, encompassing various key locations and public areas along the way.

At SIDBI, Mr. Ashwin Dighavkar, Assistant Manager, SIDBI co-ordinated the entire event. Mr. Nirmal Das, DGM and Mr. Ramakant Rahate, DGM guided the college students about the cleanliness drive. The students visited various stores and shops in the area in and around Pune city and donated dustbins.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” On 14th October 2023, SBPIM’s Institute Social responsibilitycommittee under the Prakriti phase had arranged atree plantation drive, where students of MBA First Year and Second Year together planted the saplings in PCMC area. In addition to this few students have planted the saplings in nearby area of their house in Mahalunge and Dehugaon Area to expand the plantation drive. The drive extended beyond mere planting; it also emphasized the crucial aspects of maintenance and irrigation, especially during the summer season, ensuring the survival and growth of the newly planted trees.

PCET’s S. B. Patil Institute of Management (SBPIM) – An IQAC Initiative- Alumni Association has initiated a “Tree Plantation Activity” on the Occasion of 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024. At SBPIM Campus, tree plantation was done by the hands of SBPIM Alumni Association Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar – Director, SBPIM faculty members along with Alumni of various batches, Student Council and other students took part in the activity


The Institute takes keen initiatives in preserving the environment in nearby vicinity. Activities are undertaken to safeguard natural resources and make people understand that these resources might get depleted eventually if used irresponsibly. Under this title events like visit to Sendriya Setu- The organic farm and tree plantation drives were done at Kurkundi (Khed), Ghoradeshwar Hill, PCCOE Campus and Bhakti Shakti area.

Workshops are organized to make Eco Friendly Ganpati, where the students made Ganpati Idols using Shadu Mati, followed by students volunteering for cleanliness and awareness drive during Ganesh Visarjan, by helping to immerse the idol and nirmalya in an eco-friendly way and spreading awareness of safeguarding natural resources.


The Swachhata Pakhwada ISR committee and Rotaract Club of SBPIM organized a poster competition on E waste management.

To sensitise the students to recycle and reuse plastic waste, Plastic Waste Collection Camp was organized by Rotaract Club of SBPIM along with ISR committee of SBPIM from 1st August to 15th August 2021.

Tree Plantation Drive in association with Heartfulness was conducted towards celebrating Sadbhavana Pandhrawada was conducted on 31st August 2021.

Awareness Camp: Eco friendly Diwali. Poster making competition followed by a rally to make people aware about eco- friendly Diwali ,to safe guard the environment.

Workshop on making paper Bags: To support the ‘say no to Plastic’ initiative, a workshop to make paper bags was conducted.

Shramdaan Painting at School:The students of PCET'S S.B.Patil Institute of Managementhad volunteered for a Wall beautification activity on 22nd April 2023 at K.S.P.S Primary and Secondary Government School, Mohan nagar,under the Rotaract club of SBPIM & ISR committee activity in association withSprougHub foundation on the occasion of World Earth Day. Students got an opportunity to paint the walls of the school as an outreach activity.

Session on Stress Management : PCET’s S.B. Patil Institute of Management invited Mr. Rajeev Nagarkar ,Ayurveda Doctor and Clinical Psychologist under Corporate to Campus on Stress Management on September 7, 2023. He guided student how small thing create stress in a human life and explained causes of stress and, its effects on body and mind. He guided students explained in detail the strategies to manage stress effectively.

More than 415 deaths cases per day are reported in India due to issues of reckless driving and speeding. Keeping this in mind, the faculty and staff at PCET’s S.B.Patil Institute of Management came together to organize a Road Safety Awareness Program in association with Honda Motorcycle &Scooter India Pvt. Ltd & on September 13, 2023. Mr. Dileep Kumar, Deptt. Manager- Safety Education and Centre Management West Safety Riding and Mr. Anand Kamble, sensitized the audience regarding the importance of road Safety, the basic requirements for an individual rider and conducted a practical static check where training was provided with general inspections and checks to be done before riding two wheelers.

Awareness Session on Corruption : SBPIM in association with SIDBI organized awareness driveregarding theCorruption on the occasion on Vigilance Weekon 5th October 2023. Mr.Ashwin Dighavkar, Assistant Manager, SIDBI, Mr. Nirmal Das, DGM and Mr. Ramakant Rahate, DGM visited SBPIM to emphasize the importance of ethics and transparency in its operations. They threw light on reflecting the commitment to eliminating corruption from various sectors in India, including banking and finance and used the platform to promote vigilance and integrity in the organization and society as a whole. They also distributed Pen drives as a gift to all those Student & Faculty Volunteers who participated in the Cleanliness drive organized on 1 October 2023.

Essay Competition : Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) endeavors to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in public life decided to observe Vigilance Awareness Week from 30th October to 5th November, 2023 with the theme "Say no to Corruption; commit to the Nation". In order to inculcate integrity and accountability among our students, SBPIM’s ISR Committee in association with SIDBI organized an Essay competition on the topic“Corruption free India” on 3rd November 2023. All the students and faculty memberscame together to take the Integrity pledge. 40 students of MBA Ist year participated in the competition, Mr. Pratik Adsul bagged the first prize, Ms. Khushboo Attar bagged Second prize and Ms. Vaishnavi Apune received consolation prize.

The National Voters' Day Pledge was conducted at PCET's S. B. Patil Institute of Management in association with the ELC Electoral Literacy Club,Pune. On 25th January 2024.The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar, Director SBPIM she emphasized the significance of active participation in the democratic process. Students, faculty, and staff gathered to take the National Voters' Day Pledge, highlighting the importance of upholding the principles of democracy and exercising their right to vote responsibly.


On, 12th January 2023 ISR committee and Rotaract Club of SBPIM arranged awareness session on importance of blood donation and issues in Thalassemia. Dr. Purnima Rao Senior doctor with Sahayadri Hospitals threw light on the myths of blood donation and cleared all the doubts in the minds of the students related to blood donation.

On the occasion of National Youth Day, SBPIM had organized a blood donation drive on 12th & 13th January 2023 in association with Indian Red Cross Society and Sahaydri Hospitals. The drive witnessed many young enthusiasts coming forward to donate blood generously. Around 147 donors came forward to donate blood, and support this noble cause.

On the occasion of National Voters Day, SBPIM had organized an awareness programme for the students of MBAI and II year, Students of MBA-I year under the guidance of students from MBA-II year presented a skit which showcased how important it is for the youth to vote. A meme competition was also arranged to address the same. The programme ended with all the students and the staff taking a pledge by Election commission of India to cast their vote.

Various awareness activities have been organized by the Institute to address perilous issues prevailing in the society. Awareness Drive by the students have been carried out for several issues like Swine flu, Traffic Safety, Citizen Rights: Importance of Voting, Blood Donation Camp, Swachhta Abhiyaan, save girl child, Health and Hygiene for females, Breast and cervical cancer awareness programmes, donation for flood relief, prevention and safety measures during COVID 19 and many more.

The Covid-19 pandemic not only affected physical wellness but had a greater impact on the emotional wellness of people all over the world. To cope up with the stress and uncertainty faced by the students as well as faculty members,a session was arranged on the topic” The Power of a Positive Mind” By Ms. Arpita Ghosh (Senior Counsellor, CHRIST(Deemed to be University)Lavasa.

To deal with CoronaVirus pandemic induced stress one more session was organized by Psychologist, Dr. Pallavi Mohadikar Kasande on topic “Mental space Management”.

To sensitize the administrative and housekeeping staff towards appropriate use of masks, ISR committee along with Divine HR forum organized on 25th July 2021 “Mask Donation Camp” for the employees of PCET

To mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is celebrated all over the country, SBPIM ISR committee urged the staff and students to undertake online and offline pledge on 31st October 2020

Students and faculty members were also motivated to take an online Integrity Pledge by Central Vigilance Commision on https://pledge.cvc.nic.in/

Kolhapur flood relief and rehabilitation programme: SBPIM students raised huge funds and purchased medicines to be given at Prathamik Arogya Kendra ,Savarde, Taluka Hatkanangale. Students also collected certain Household items, Food, Clothes and Groceries for the relief camps at Kolhapur.

Lecture on "Is Diabetes Reversible?: An awareness camp was organized in association with Rotary Club of Akurdi How to keep Diabetes under control.

Blood Donation Camp: To make the students sensitize with the importance of blood donations, Blood donation Camps are arranged on a regular basis at SBPIM, to which the students, staff and faculty gives tremendous response every time.

Volunteers for Sant Tukaram Maharaj Dindi. Students of MBA first year helped and gave service to the devotees who were part of the Dindi.

Free Health Checkup camp. To make the entire campus aware about the need to keep healthy and track health status, SBPIM organized a Health Checkup camp for the all the faculties and staff of the campus.

Donation Drive :"Happiness doesn't result from what we get, but from what we give" - Ben Carson. We at SBPIM always believe in teaching our students that real happiness comes from giving back to society. The Rotaract Club of SBPIM, Institute Social Responsibility committee and Sakal YIN jointly organized a Food grain donation drive at Vatsalya Shikshan Sanstha, (Residential School/ Workshop for the Rehabilitation of Divyang (Mentally Retarded) orphans,Dehugaon on 8 June 2023.We donated 100 kgs Wheat,10kg Sugar,10 kg masoor dal,10 kg Tur daal,10 kg poha,1 big box of Maggi, 20 kg onions & 4 kg Mysore paak. Our students & faculty spent a wonderful time dancing, playing games and interacting with the special children there. Our Alumni actively contribute to all our institute related activities. Our Alumni Mr. Amaardeep Suryawanshi of Amardeep Foundation donated Rs.4000 for breakfast for the children.


As a part of ISR initiative, a donation drive was been organized for the children of the people who were working at the construction site within the PCET campus. .ISR committee wanted to spread joy and hope in the life of these small children, with this idea, the student volunteers purchased books , colouring box, pencils, sharpers and also some snacks like chips and chikki for the children and spent some quality time with the students, just to bring a smile on the face of these small underprievledge children.

Institute Social Responsibility committee and Rotaract club of S.B. Patil Institute of Management in association with Prayas Foundation organized a donation drive for Aniket Sevabhavi Sanstha, an orphanage for special Children. Students and staff raised money to purchase food grains for the orphanage. 100 kg wheat, 30 kg Jowar, 25 kg Dal, and 20 Kg Rice was donated. SBPIM always believes in sensitizing the students towards giving back to the society

Donation Drives to promote education to the deprived and underprivileged students at orphanage are carried out to empower all needy children with the gift of knowledge, books, furniture, clothes, toys and stationary also free meal and services were provided by the volunteers at orphanage and rural places. The Institute tries to spread the joy and light to the deprived children by extending a ray of hope to live by celebrating festival with orphans.

Nirbhaya (Safety & empowerment of women)

We at SBPIM believe in inspiring, motivating and encouraging our women to be confident individuals.Good menstrual hygiene management (MHM) plays a fundamental role in enabling females to reach their full potential. SBPIM organized a workshop on Menstrual Hygiene and Personality development for our Female students and staff in association with Brandtouch Analytics, the programme was sponsored by Whisper and Gilette Venus on 6th October 2023. The session highlighted about menstrual hygiene and the dos and don’ts about hygiene.


To mark the International Women’s day, The Rotaract Club of SBPIM & ISR committee organized an Exhibition cum sale for the hand made products from Seva Sahayog Foundation and Tana Bana Project on 2nd March 2023. The main intention was to recognize the efforts of the women from underprivileged society and help them to become financially independent.

Disheartening issues prevailing in the society such as gender abuse, women exploitation at every level (like rapes, harassment, dowry, etc) have been addressed from time to time. Activities like street play by the students on Save Girl Child and Women’s Day Celebration are conducted to sensitize the issues related to girl/ women and create a respectable attitude towards them.

Safety awareness programmes have been conducted and a Whatsapp group is created in liaison with BUDDY COP which is an initiative taken by the police department to increase security of women in the society. All the female staff and students are part of this group with a view to safeguard any group member who faces issues such as stalking, staring, ragging, eve teasing, or any kind of sexual harassment. Sessions on women safety , poster competition on save girl child, sessions on importance health and hygiene of women, breast cancer and cervical cancer awareness programs etc. are a regular affair at the institute.

To address the issues of increase in the number of cyber crimes especially targeting women, an online session on “Safety of Women With Rising Cyber Crimes” by Mr. MAHESH RAKHEJA, Cyber Security Consultant and Technical Public Speaker. On 22nd April 2021

To address the emotional challenges faced by the women, an online session for Girl students on “Mental health for women of 2020” by Mr. Amogh Kshirsagar, Psychologist & Corporate trainer on 29 April 2021

SBPIM organizes an online session for the women staff and students on the topic “Financial Wellness for Women” by Ms. Ashwini Kulkarni, Financial advisor, with a view to make the women of today more Financially independent.

To make the girl students of SBPIM understand the importance of good lifestyle and eating habits on health an online session was conducted on the topic “Food, Diet and Nutrition – An Overview” by Mrs. Sanjyot Sandupatla, Fitness Trainer and Nutritionist on 16th April 2021.

To address the Safety of women in society an online interactive session on “Defense is the best Offence” for women staff members and girl students was conducted by Mr. Saurabh Gorave, Alumni and black belt awardee. He demonstrated various self-defense techniques live.

A digitalized Road Safety Awareness Program was organized on “Digital Road Safety Defensive Training” for the women staff and students of SBPIM on 2nd November 2020, which was delivered by Mr. Swapnil Jawharkar (Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. Safety Training Network, West Regional Office, Pune.)
